“A harmless man is not a good man. A good man is a very dangerous man who has that under voluntary control.” -Jordan Peterson
If I’m not strong enough to do what needs to be done to protect and provide for my family, then I’m not a good man. Physically, emotionally, intellectually, spiritually.
I think this is something that is hard for me, because I am quiet, reserved, and peaceful by nature. I don’t stick up for myself, or for my rights, naturally. But now I find myself at the head of a family, and my personality has to give way to my responsibility. Part of my becoming a better man, then, is to develop that strength, and use it wisely. Again, it’s not for myself.
“Toxic Masculinity” is a complete misnomer. Masculinity is not toxic. Selfishness is toxic. A lack of discipline is toxic. A lack of a backbone is especially toxic. True masculinity is exactly what this world needs.
I think this is something that is hard for me, because I am quiet, reserved, and peaceful by nature. Part of my becoming a better man, then, is to develop that strength, and use it wisely. Again, it’s not for myself.
I want to be a better, stronger, more dangerous man, and I’m doing my best to get there.
